Donna Leake

Donna Leake has been DJing globally and hosting a monthly radio show on NTS for the past eight years.

What began with a pure love for music and dance has grown into a continuous exploration of sounds, spaces, and shared experiences, all guided by an ever-evolving taste. Donna Leake plays across many styles, eras, and feelings. Influences and inspirations include—but are not limited to: traditional dance and folk from all over the world, jazz, percussion, hip hop, dancehall, reggae, dub, roots, bass, psych, ritual, soundtracks, and library funk. Sometimes seamlessly blended, sometimes left to speak for themselves.

Factors like the time, venue, sound system, and overall atmosphere dictate the direction—whether a set focuses on specific tempo ranges and production styles, or takes the crowd on an all-encompassing journey. Ultimately, the mission is to create a space to move through life’s many moods together in unity, respect, and freedom, while honoring music as a healer, teacher, and infinite portal.
